Let Me Introduce Myself!

Hey all! My name is Cherish, I prefer to be called Cher. No, not the amazingly talented woman who sings "If I Could Turn Back Time". Even though, that would be a dream come true! I am 30 years old. Some days I feel like it, some days I don't have a clue where the time went. I am first and foremost a mother. Then, when my children allow it, I am an avid crocheter. I run my own online shop on Etsy, KnottyByNeedles. DIY crafts are my favorite pass time. Definitely not a pro, but determined to get what I want for pretty cheap. YAY CHEAP!!! I am far from perfect, maybe even a little opinionated. I am however honest, down to earth and just here to let other moms know, YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!! I have a very quirky sense of humor, although my boyfriend would not agree in the slightest. He is just mad that all my pranks are awesome... And on him. HAHAAA!!!! I just may share some of those moments because I think they are extremely comical because he is so gullible. Motherhood is great most days. There are days where I want to rip my hair out. I may yell, be hard on my kids, on top of other possible faulty mom habits and yet... Those little snot nosed kisses seem to make everything better. Not my health, because- definitely gross. Still cute though.

My children are 10, 2 and for another 2 days, 2 years old. Yes, I have two 2 year olds right now. (MOTHERLY PANIC MOMENT!!) I have what is called "Irish Twins". I had never heard of the term until I had my own. Two babies less than a year apart. My son Brock just turned two the 9th and my daughter Raven will be three the 13th. I could write a book on this never ending experience! Crazy intense, the whole thing, let me tell you! Another day though! Juni, my 10 year old is such a great kid. Very helpful, home schooled by choice, loves her younger siblings and always wanting to make stuff. And is she ever crafty!! Bit of a glam girl, but all about The Walking Dead and horror movies. Oh and one more thing... I AM PREGNANT!
I am maybe five weeks based off of my last menstrual period. I removed my IUD called Mirena myself. Blog for another day (insert nervous laughter here)! Yes, I have heard that it shouldn't be announced until after about 12 weeks. I am just too excited to share my journey from the very start. No matter what it entails! I have announced and started making lists. I love making lists!! Following them, that is NOT the same thing! LOL. Thankfully, I am my own boss!

KnottyByNeedles is the name of my small shop on Etsy. I have been on there for almost two years now. Crocheting is my favorite thing to do. I love the custom orders I get. Especially the amigurumi (stuffed animals). It is very relaxing for me. Truthfully, I love getting bombarded with orders and then strenuously trying to complete them. Sort of my own self competition. I would say a competition against time, but time defeats motherhood in all aspects. That is a war I will never win and I like to be a little more optimistic than that! I learned the basics for crocheting when I was nine years old. I had zero patience and was only able to make triangle washcloths, triangle doll clothes and chain leashes for my stuffed animals. While I was pregnant with my now almost three year old, I decided to pick it back up again. Youtube was my best friend. I sat with my big belly, watched YouTube crochet for beginner videos with yarn and hook in hand. Surprisingly, I caught on quick and was making baby stuff in no time. Never stopped crocheting since!
I didn't get my big break until I wrote a pattern inspired by Princess Poppy from Trolls with my Yarntner (yarn + partner), @Crafty.N.Cute found on Instagram. I have been blessed ever since. Well over 1500 sales and my dream just keeps expanding. Soon, I will be adding more sewing items to my shop. I might even get to teach myself how to knit. I have no idea when I will find the time just yet, it will happen though!!

My goal is to just write. I know many women can attest to my experiences, my trials, my errors, my mental chaos. Maybe encourage other women to lessen up on their self discrimination. If anything, maybe just get a laugh in for the day. I plan on including some DIY attempts, a little bit of crocheting and am also open to any suggestions on what you would like to hear about. I would love to hear from everyone, so be it constructive criticism, questions or advice!

You can find my shop at https://www.etsy.com/shop/KnottyByNeedles?ref=seller-platform-mcnav and me on Instagram @KnottyByNeedles and of course, on here as well!

Thank you for starting this journey with me!!
